  • At Kentish Smiles Clinic, we are committed to supporting the NHS ambition of achieving Net Zero by 2045. As a healthcare provider, we understand the importance of operating sustainably and reducing our environmental impact.
    We have published a full Carbon Reduction Plan that outlines:
  • >> Our baseline carbon footprint (measured in 2023/24).
  • >> Emissions breakdown by Scope 1, 2, and 3.
  • >> Governance and compliance with government standards.
  • Our commitment is more than symbolic — we are taking action today.

 

  • What We’ve Already Done
  • >> Switched to LED lighting across the premises.
  • >> Installed double glazing and timers on all electric heaters.
  • >> Introduced UV-reflective window panels to reduce A/C use.
  • >> Adopted energy-efficient appliances (A+ rating).
  • >> Improved clinical waste segregation in line with HTM 01-07.
  • About Our Carbon Reduction Plan
  • Scope 2:
    >> Transitioning to 100% renewable electricity (from end of 2024).
    >> Additional insulation and awareness training for staff.
    >> Replacing equipment with high-efficiency alternatives.
    Scope 3:
    >> Promote cycling, walking, and public transport for staff.
    >> Install secure cycle parking.
    >> Launch “Cycle to Work” scheme.
    >> Encourage patients to use low-carbon transport.
    >> Require suppliers to disclose carbon data and set Net Zero targets.
    >> Purchase biodegradable dental consumables wherever possible.

  • Our Carbon Reduction Plan complies with:
    >> PPN 06/21 procurement guidance.
    >> SECR (Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting) requirements.<.br>
    >> GHG Reporting Protocol and BEIS conversion factors.
    The Plan was reviewed and approved by Dr. Madhavi Sadalkar and reflects our full commitment to sustainability.
